On July 19, some of our members met with the Director of the Oneida Lake Arts and Heritage Center in Sylvan Beach. Their location is 1201 Main Street in Sylvan Beach.
We have set up a schedule for the Guild to have use of their common room on the third Sunday of each month from 1:30pm until 5:00pm. The schedule is set through December 2022. The Director, Linda, only wants to charge us $25 per meeting but the Board may say otherwise, so we are awaiting final confirmation on this, and will let you know as soon as it’s confirmed. At this point we can cover the cost out of the Guild’s funds. There is talk of possibly holding a Day of Puppetry for March 2023, but that would take much planning because the price for the full facility is significantly higher.
At this point, we will be meeting next on August 21st at 1:30pm, and Nancy Sander will be giving us, and any public that happen by, a puppet show at 2:00pm of her “Little Red Ridinghood”. Nancy will be inviting useful critiques of her show at our guild meeting following her performance. We still have to work out a few things about our meeting format and such, and everybody’s input is welcome.
OLAH is a relatively new organization with many plans, and we look forward to seeing how this all works out. But at this point it looks like we are on for monthly meetings!
